Management Essentials: New Manager Training
"The Next Generation
Management Development courses have helped me communicate more
effectively with my peers and teammates. By utilizing effective
communication techniques such as clarifying and confirming, and
asking open ended questions, I have been able to clarify and
understand information in situations where I would have
otherwise asked limited questions and made false assumptions."

Today’s constant changes demand the
implementation of effective and often innovative techniques by
those in management positions. This 2-day intensive
management training program
concentrates on the essential skills and competencies necessary
for successful Managers to prevail.
Successful Managers are often credited with
an ability to communicate and persuade in ways to which others
can easily relate. Management Essentials will help each manager
discover their individual, natural or “hardwired” style of
communication.
Some unique distinctions in
communication
styles often serve as roadblocks to our ability to influence and
persuade others. Students will learn to identify these habitual
practices, and develop ways to adapt contextually as
circumstance and opportunity dictate.
As part of the
Toolkit, Management
Essentials will demonstrate how to develop growth relationships
with colleagues and teammates using a simple and elegant
coaching model, both in formal and informal environments.
Management Essentials will examine the
process of writing and giving useful and accurate performance
evaluations; setting objectives and identifying targets that
enable team members to be forward focused in reaching their
strategic goals.
Participants will:
- Identify and understand their natural
communication style.
- Practice adapting their style to suit the
needs of special situations and to people who have different
needs.
- Become aware of distinctions that impact
the communication process.
- Learn how to coach individuals and teams
to enhance overall performance; delivering performance
evaluations that are meaningful and allow for mutual success.
- Learn to set realistic and effective
goals.
This course is for new and inexperienced
leaders, managers, and supervisors.
