The Business Side of Managing
A Survivor's Guide
The Business Side of Managing: A Survivor’s Guide: provides a basic foundation any
new manager can leverage to get the job done. Throughout this 2-day program, participants receive tools that they can easily customize and apply immediately back on the job. The workshop introduces such fundamentals as:
- Defining the team objective
- Scheduling and basic project management
- Risk management
- Data analysis
- Budgeting and planning
- Pragmatic innovation
Participants work through case studies enabling them to make connections to similar situations that they face in the “real world”. We use a simulation that helps them to “put it all together,” giving them feedback and practice opportunities. By the end of the 2 days, managers compile a 90-day calendar, a Survivors’ Guide, to help them get through their first three months.
Within the context of your organization, participants learn how to:
-
Fully identify their duties, roles, responsibilities, and competencies as new managers
-
Assess their new team, taking stock of what talent and resources they have:
Current State; Immediate Issues; Future Goals
-
