Meeting Planning and Facilitation Training
How to Maximize Meeting Investments
Approximately 11
million business meetings are held every day in the United
States. Most are considered a waste of valuable time.
This proven one-day Meeting Planning and
Facilitation workshop teaches skills that will enable
participants to accomplish more in meetings in less time. It is
based on the premise that successful meetings require both a
good plan and strong facilitation. Participants learn all the
elements of a successful meeting plan and how to facilitate and
achieve desired outcomes during the meeting.
They also practice the meeting skills of
gaining consensus, managing the communication flow, keeping the
meeting on track, and handling disruptive behaviors in a
positive way.
Participants learn how to:
- Effectively plan a meeting - purpose,
desired outcomes, and agenda
- Correctly identify the appropriate
pre-work and attendees for each meeting
- Efficiently achieve consensus and
identify when consensus is the appropriate decision-making
method
- Handle disruptive behaviors so that the
person becomes a positive meeting participant
- Facilitate meetings, as a leader or
participant, so that the meeting:
- Accomplishes stated outcomes
- Stays on track
- Encourages equal participation
- Creates action plans that encourage
follow-through
Each program is 100% customized to meet
specific business and project needs.
The process includes pre-work, preparation,
and follow-up. Preparation typically includes:
- Observation:
Facilitator/consultant observes real-time meetings prior to the
workshop to customize the workshop to address key priorities.
- Baseline Measurement: Participants
quickly evaluate a current meeting according to best practice
guidelines to get a baseline measurement.
One-half day executive sessions are also
available to ensure company accountability and alignment.
