Working in the "Zone" Training
Skills and Strategies for Optimizing Leadership Health and Performance
This one-day course will introduce you to the Zone Performance Model-a tool that helps leaders to improve their work performance and reduce the health risk of their people by understanding the four zones of performance.
Though people may work long and hard, they may not be working at peak or optimal levels of performance. As a leader, your overall effectiveness will be largely determined by your ability to wisely manage and develop your people. This learning module will introduce participants to a very powerful tool for increasing the overall effectiveness of people by learning to identify which "performance zone" they are working in, and by helping them to recognize ways they can move toward more optimal levels of performance.
You will learn to help yourself and your people to better:
- Recognize and avoid working in the "danger zones" of ongoing burn out or rust out in order to reduce health risks and inefficiency
- Maximize the time you spend working in 'The Zone" of optimal performance-which is characterized by having:
- A sense of control, choice and self determination in doing your work
- A level of challenge that is attainable yet growth enhancing
- Clarity regarding the goal and leader's expectations
- A sense of confidence and commitment to being successful in your work
- A sense of "flow" free from strain
- An enthusiasm for work
- Learn to manage your team and help your team members to manage themselves to work more of the time in the "learning zone" where there is a healthy balance of challenge and self development taking place.
In your role as a leader, you are looked upon to model wise ways of working and to monitor, inspire and coach the performance of your people. Learning and applying the principles necessary for optimizing performance and working in "The Zone" are essential for working wisely and efficiently.
